    Underbody:

Dirt, rocks, ice and other environmental factors cause corrosion. finexus® protects the underbody with its high resistance against environmental influences. Simultaneously, its flexible formability supports aerodynamics and improves noise protection as well as thermal insulation. A single polymer material, finexus® is characterized by an optimal ratio between flexibility and strength, thereby facilitating both the installation in vehicles and ensuring the performance during use.

    Parcel shelf:

Specifically for parcel shelf use, finexus® is available in higher basis weights. With its high definition, even curvatures and complex geometries are possible. Being 100% polyester, finexus® does not release harmful substances.

    Wheel arch liners:

Wheel arch liners made from finexus® score points for the protection against mechanical damage as well as for the reduction in weight compared to plastic liners. An acoustic absorber itself, finexus® reduces the number of additional absorbers, helps to reduce wheel and driving noise, and supports snug fitting geometries.

    Headliner:

finexus® headliner boards impress with acoustic efficiency and easy assembly. Using special fibers, this 100% polyester material withstands higher temperatures in vehicle interiors. finexus® is flexibly moldable and allows for the integration of various components. Trimming and die-cutting remnants can be recycled for new products.

    Trunk liner:

finexus® proves being a hard-wearing material in trunk liners, a material that withstands impacts and is easy to clean given its water-repellent surface. In processing, finexus® can adjust to the most various geometries and, at the end of its life cycle, can easily be recycled.

    Frunk (electromobility):

Thanks to its stability and smooth surface, finexus® is an ideal material for frunks, creating additional stowage space in the vehicle. Apart from its stable shape, a frunk made from finexus® is acoustically effective, also yielding benefits in weight and fuel consumption.

    Exterior stowage compartments:

Given its self-supporting nature and its highly bonded surface, finexus® is ideally suited for trays and liners in storage compartments. Its hydrophobic properties provide excellent protection against environmental impact and its flexibility lets it adapt also to complex geometries.

    Interior lining:

finexus® offers a multitude of possible applications in truck cabin interiors. For side panels, rear wall panels or headliners – Sandler’s innovative 100% polyester material provides for the rigidity needed for dimensionally stable components. finexus® is acoustically effective and free from harmful emissions - sustainable nonwoven solutions with a high recycled content that contribute to a healthy working environment.

    Underbody:

finexus® is excellently suited for underbody applications in commercial vehicles. Its highly bonded surface forms an effective barrier against stone chipping, dirt and other environmental influences. Thanks to the hydrophobic nature of the material, it requires no additional protective layers, also meaning that the purity of the material is maintained. In addition to its high stability when used as a molded component, finexus® also contributes to the damping of tire and rolling noise in the underbody area.

    Proven Sustainability

finexus® offers benefits in weight and installation space in vehicle designs, thus reducing the consumption of resources and fuel. Thanks to our technology, we can utilize up to 80% recycled content and significantly reduce the carbon footprint (GWP: 0.953 kg CO2 equivalent*). The result is a sustainable material not only having a small carbon footprint but also being easily recyclable. The material itself as well as production remnants can be reused for applications in the mobility sector. This way, Sandler creates a material combining sustainability and efficiency in a circular economy. Cooperating with fiber suppliers and research institutes, we are working to develop recycling processes for the production of novel fibers and products based on recycled content.

    Processing Properties of finexus®

The processing properties of finexus® are characterized by the rigidity and the specific properties it obtains during the thermo-forming process in which the cold nonwoven is placed in a mold heated to 190°C/ 374°F. Pressure and this ideal temperature activate the fibers and make them assume the intended geometry. Subsequently, the material needs to be cooled, ideally using a fixed cooler or a tentering frame to achieve accurate contours. Further processing may include water jet cutting, embossing or pinching in the tool.
