bluefiber is Sandler's effective acoustic solution based on nonwovens. Namely our smart acoustic panels, light yet mechanically robust acoustic boards made from polyester, can be flexibly integrated into various spatial and design concepts.
What Exactly is bluefiber?
Built on decades of expertise in polyester fibers and nonwovens, bluefiber is Sandler's brand for acoustic products. The range of products includes panels, pads, and wool, as well as custom-made solutions for a broad variety of acoustic applications.
Smart acoustic panels are ideal for exposed applications and combine acoustic performance with a range of design options. Made from pure polyester, they are available in Types I - III, each offering different product properties to meet specific application requirements. Available thicknesses are 12, 25, and 40 millimeters (.47", 1", and 1.57"), depending on the panel type.
The panels are lightweight yet robust, moisture and abrasion resistant, as well as thermoplastically moldable. These properties offer a wide range of options for converting and design. bluefiber panels are specifically designed for acoustic applications in interior spaces.
What's the Effect of bluefiber?
Hard surfaces like glass or concrete reflect sound into the room, causing reverberation. The porous structure of bluefiber is key to its acoustic performance: sound penetrates the panel and is partially absorbed by the material. This reduces sound reflections and helps to improve the acoustic conditions inside the room. bluefiber solutions are tested for specific applications according to standards such as DIN ISO 11654.
However, the acoustic effect in a room is not determined by the panel material itself. Room size, surface types, and the dimensions, positioning, and the design of the installed panels all influence the result.
