Welcome to working at Sandler
The Sandler team has grown again. Currently, 59 trainees complete their vocational training in 11 professions at Sandler AG, along with 6 dual study programs combining academic and vocational training. As of September, we welcomed 16 additional trainees, who began their specialized education in mechanics, electronics, warehousing, lab technologies, and business management, along with two students in dual study programs.
For young people, the first day at work typically is a big step – exciting, but it has a tendency to come with a little nervousness. At Sandler we focus on making the entry into the working environment as pleasant as possible for our new trainees. We want them to feel at home from day one – after all, they’re an important part of our team.
Well prepared for the training
To ensure that our new colleagues can get off to a confident and informed start right from the outset, a varied induction program is planned for the first few weeks. Training courses on our products, the various areas of application for our nonwovens, occupational safety, and the IT portals we use provide valuable insights into our everyday work. Basic manufacturing technologies are also taught, because understanding processes and procedures is crucial for successful training.

A highlight at the start is the tour of the production. Here, the new trainees experience firsthand the creation of our innovative materials, and how many people and how much technology is involved.
More than just expertise
In addition to technical expertise, we at Sandler feel that cooperation is particularly important. As part of the introduction, our trainees do not only learn about our Sandler values but also what the Sandler Spirit is all about.
Teambuilding for our trainees: arrive, acquaint, feel good
On our trainee day back in August, the new trainees had the opportunity to get to know their future trainee colleagues as well our training supervisors in a relaxed atmosphere. There was plenty of room for first contacts, personal discussions and an initial outlook on what’s to come. An excursion to the nearby village of Hallerstein put skills and teamwork in focus as participants had to build soapbox racers which should not only look good but also manage the course, so brakes and steering needed to function.
Full steam ahead into working life
Before they were admitted to the track, the training supervisors checked the racers for safety, but then it was ready, steady, go! Five bold drivers dressed in Sandler nonwoven overalls raced against each other with passionate cheering from their teams – and lots of fun. The winning team – and also the most stylish one – were handed a small prize.
A BBQ and lots of good fun marked the end of an event which surely will be remembered for a long time. A good start with good cooperation making any anxiety about the first day be quickly forgotten.
